What We Do

We empower people with Down’s syndrome to live the life they choose.

Many new parents leave hospital with their child with Down’s syndrome for the first time with little or no information about their child’s diagnosis. This can be a frightening experience and a very emotional time. Down Syndrome Cheshire is continuing to build stronger links with hospitals to provide support for midwives and new parents.

Every family’s experiences are different. We work with parents, carers and schools to provide emotional support, practical training and advice to meet their varying needs.

Awareness

Every single person with Down’s syndrome has potential. We provide training and education to raise awareness of Down’s syndrome and to open people’s eyes to what members of our community can and will achieve…

Education

We offer education settings a variety of training courses that help to unlock the potential of children with Down’s syndrome…

Family Support

We support families of children who have Down’s syndrome…

Health

Access to good healthcare and the right information is incredibly important both for parents and people with Down’s syndrome…

Friendship

Having fun with friends is an important part of life for everyone. Providing opportunities for this for children with Down’s syndrome is vitally important to us…
