We support people of all ages with Down syndrome to unlock their potential and lead happy and fulfilling lives by changing perceptions, creating opportunities and educating the wider community.
WELCOME TO DOWN SYNDROME CHESHIRE
Our charity was founded in 2007 by a group of parents, who realised how important it is to connect with other people in order to share experiences. Our aim is to provide opportunities for parents, carers, siblings and extended family networks to have fun in a fully inclusive environment, where a child with Down syndrome is one of many, rather than one of a few.
We run regular support activities for people with Down syndrome and their family members.
RECENT HIGHLIGHTS
At Down Syndrome Cheshire, we’re dedicated to empowering learners with Down syndrome by offering tailored educational support and inclusive strategies. Our continued goal is to work together with families and schools across Cheshire to create better educational outcomes for every child with Down syndrome, allowing them access to the tools, knowledge, and strategies they need to succeed. We offer: Expert guidance, training and resources for educators Support and guidance for parents and carers Practical tools to foster inclusive learning environments One-on-one support and advice Visit our dedicated Education zone for more information, including to contact the team.

This World Down Syndrome Day, our challenge was simple: We just wanted you to get up, get out, and get active for Down Syndrome Cheshire in whatever way you could, and you guys accepted the challenge brilliantly! We are so proud and incredibly grateful to everyone who was sponsored to walk further; run faster; gym harder, and Zumba crazier than they thought possible, all of which raised over £6400!! This is absolutely incredible! Well done to all of our challengers; you are ALL SUPERHEROES!
We're so grateful to everyone who took up this year's Get Active For DSC challenge to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day 2025 - including Penny, who undertook an amazing Zumba-thon with her friends and raised £761 for DSC! This is such an inspirational story, and we feel so grateful and lucky to have the support of amazing people like Penny, whose kindness and determination help us to make a difference in the lives of our Cheshire Down syndrome community.
We're so proud of mum and DSC Trustee, Anna, for challenging herself to 21 gym sessions across the WDSD month of March. In her own words, this was a real undertaking - fitting it in with a busy life and home, but she did it and managed to raise an amazing £916 in the process! Well done, Anna! You're a real inspiration, and we're so grateful for your support.
A huge well done to Jasper for taking part in a recent Delemere Park Run as part of our 'Get Active For DSC' WDSD 2025 fundraising campaign. Not only did Jasper successfully get around the course, but he also got everybody off at the start line with his megaphone skills! Brilliant stuff, Jasper and even more so as you managed to raise a fantastic £2402.50!!
